Hurricane Fiona
On Sept 23/24, 2022, Atlantic Canada was hit with the worst hurricane the region has ever seen. The storm has caused significant damages across PEI, with a large percentage of mature trees completely uprooted. Most of the island was without power for over a week, and as of summer 2023, some families are still homeless in the wake of catastrophic loss to property.
While Vera, Sneakers and Rick are safe and alive, the Grumpy Professor property suffered massage destruction from the storm, as evidenced by the photos below:

Significant repairs are underway to two buildings, including the main building, which was literally blown off its posts, and became disconnected from plumbing. A third building (the HogShead) no longer exists. Miraculously, the stargazing cabin survived unscathed. A number of the damages were not covered by insurance.
